BALLYGUNGE EKUSH PALLY SARBOJANIN DURGOTSAB SAMITY, started its journey in 1947 the year of Independence. A group of eminent citizens- Jamini Roy (Indian Painter – Padma Bhusan Winner 1954), Atul Basu (Bangladeshi Oil Colour Eminent Painter), Dr. R. Ahmed (Dental Surgeon & donor of 1st Dental College of India) and many other came together to celebrate Durga Puja at 21 Pally Ballygunge Phari.
